Do you know how many TV shows there are? Me neither, but it seems like 5 billion! If you want to watch a boatload of stinky men catching lobster, THERE’S A SHOW FOR YOU! If you want to watch people hunting through foliage for a glimpse of a Sasquatch, THERE’S A SHOW FOR YOU… seriously, and it’s super squatchy. Watching people down a mug of their own urine more your speed? THERE. IS. A. SHOW. FOR. YOU.
I decided to take matters into my own hands and along with Mr. John we have created the first ever episode of a show I call “Mixing it Up!” My very first guest was the incredibly talented and lovely Cristin of Cristin’s Cookies. She has been such a sweet friend of mine right from the beginning of my cookie adventure, and I was so excited to finally meet her. We got to chat and decorate cookies together, she even fed us lunch. She is even cuter in person if that is possible! I know the video is a little rough, but I’ve learned tons from this process and I’m beyond thrilled Cristin was willing to be my guinea pig. It’s a lot like my tutorial so hold on tight, it’s going to be a cheesy ride!
I just watched the video from a tweet sent by Gail @THEToughCookie. Mr. John is a great videographer and you are such a natural in front of the camera. I love that you made this a *period* piece (that car!!!) Cristin is adorable, it was nice to hear her voice for the first time. Having tried glaze icing on just a few occasions, I have the utmost admiration and respect for those who decorate with it all the time. I don't think that I have the patience.
This is one of the coolest posts yet! Love it
Great show, Arty! Looks like you will get a big audience with this show!!
Here is an open invitation for Arty McGoo to come make cookies with me here in NY!! OH so much fun!!! :o)
OMG, you rock. The car! The commercials! And the perfect cookier for the video. It really was cute. I have never used glaze, read all about it, but now I know! And I'm just sayin', when that hankering to see Graceland hits, drive that hot car here!
Loved it Arty McGoo and Cristin! I laughed all the way through. I'm totally diggin the car and retro feel. I'm a royal girl myself. May try the glaze for fun, but it sounds a little too time consuming for me. Looking forward to the next episode!
Oh my gosh, you girls are too cute!
Goodness me! You are adorable! 🙂
Loved those commercials too! And I think if I ever had a cookie with my likeness on it like that – I would be sooooo upset if someone ate it! LOL The thank you cookies were just amazing!
I
You are so creative i love it, i'm from spain and the light corn syrup costs 6€ (i think 7 $)the little bottle, so i'm a royal icing girl, too. I'm looking for a very special recipe to use it, for me is a luxury product, what do you recomend me ? 😉
Loved the video! and that car OH MY it's gorgeous! Can't wait to see your next video. You did a fantastic job.
so did she convert you to glaze? once you try glaze, you'll never want to eat the dry royal stuff again 😉
Loved the video, love that you guys put classic commercials in it, too fun!
Had no idea christin's cookies was so local….going to have to stalk her (JK) =)
Loved the video! I'm sure you girls had lots of fun – great job all around!
LOL! I got a little TEARY!!!!!!!!! This is ADORABLE!
Fun, fun, fun. Your creativity never stops, does it? Love the "old fashioned" theme and it was absolutely delightful to meet you both and learn so much from you. A cookie channel…..how awesome is that?!
I loved this…..I hope you make more, it's such a great idea!!!!!
Yay! This was so much fun to watch! More, more, more, I want more!!! Keep em' coming. Well done!!!!!!!!!
I watched this @ 2 am the other morning and had a smile from the beginning to the end. Wonderful wonderful job all around 5+ stars. Wonderful theme great editing awesome questions. Just great! Keep up the great work! I've tried total as well as poured fondant. The glaze looks a bit like poured fondant maybe a little moister. I don't care for fondant or royal. Poured is a little better hopefully glaze is as good or better. I'll give a try real soon!
This is so much fun!! Can't wait to see where you go next!
So much fun – can't wait to see more!
