“Spell it out”
In class this month at McGoo U we will be focusing on our typing and letter writing skills. We spell it out with a rusty marquee light, in a wordy letter mailed in a vintage envelope, and we hone our typing skills as we type a message on a typewriter. tap tap tap… ding! There are so many fun ways you could incorporate these cookies into different themes and events.
Our guest professor in the Expert Lab this month is the one and only Yoli Idos of Yoli’s Yummies. Yoli teaches us how she makes beautiful accents on her cookies using wafer paper. It was fascinating to watch how she creates 3 dimensional flowers and butterflies. Such a fun way to add texture and detail and Yoli shows us how easy it is.
We get to know Yoli in Mixing it Up and learn what a lucky lady she is. She was the grand prize winner of the McGoo Twelve Days of Christmas Giveaway from last Christmas where she won everything from stencils and ribbon to her first KitchenAid mixer and a flyaway trip to visit and film at McGoo U! Yoli’s excitement about cookies is contagious. She shares her love of cookies with her “cookie friends” who meet at her house regularly to create together. She runs a bridal shop with her sister and has two boys and a very supportive husband who is always amazed at her beautiful cookie creations.

In Smart Cookie we welcome back Marquita Miller as she talks about how we can make our cookie businesses profitable and how we can come up with a formula for pricing. She shares so much great advice here for those of you who sell cookies and tackles a question on every business cookier’s mind.

After School we revisit our Real Housewives of Cookie County skit series. In this episode we’ll see how our real housewives are getting along, and what they think when someone new (with new money) moves into the neighborhood. A huge THANK YOU to our divas (for the day) Yoli Idos (Yoli’s Yummies), Monica Holbert (Cookie Cowgirl), Andrea Walters (AndyKay’s Cookies), Laurie Anglen (Cookie Bliss), and Georganne Bell (LilaLoa). It was so hilarious seeing these sweet ladies act like spoiled brats for the filming.
As always we finish off the day with a relaxing and impromptu design using the Extra Frosting from class.
