Supply List and Set Details

Here where I live in California, summer is ON. And for our town, July means that it’s time for the mid-state fair. All the kids bring out the goats and pigs they’ve been raising. People enter their best pies, jams and jellies into the baking competitions. There are beautiful quilts and blankets displaying impressive needlework, and all the daredevils get in line to ride the crazy carnival rides.
The delightful sights and sounds of a fair would not be complete without the scents and flavors of all the unique food stalls making everything from cotton candy to fried Oreos.

This month at McGoo U we’ll create several classic fair foods. We’ll start with one of the best foods you’ll find that comes on a stick: the classic corn dog with its cornbread batter fried to a golden brown. While we’re in the fryer let’s get some delightfully crispy churros coated in sugar and cinnamon. And because we want to round out the meal with something healthy we’ll finish with some strawberries… that just happen to be cradled in a nest of fried dough, dusted with powdered sugar, and finished with a dollop of whip.

The fair is not known for its healthy options but the great thing about these cookie versions is they come together EXTRA FAST! None of them even have a full flood so you will be done with your summer school homework and be back in line to ride the big Ferris wheel in NO TIME!

We welcome Debbie Coughlin of Icing Images back to the Expert Lab to share all the amazing things her SIX different edible papers can do, the differences, and what she tests first in every new paper product they offer in their shop. In Mixing It Up she shares a little about what makes her 25-year-old business different (and award-winning!), what she looks forward to, and what she would sing at karaoke!

Need to make a million corndog cookies? Use this simple hack found in Smart Cookie to make them come together EVEN QUICKER! Want to make your funnel cake and churro look even more delicious with the slightest effort? Chocolate, the answer is always chocolate. And the final step in adorableness is the special way you present them!
But wait! There’s more. In Extra Frosting I create one more fair food favorite as I celebrate the beauty of street corn coated with what looks like Tajin, crema, and fresh cilantro. I’m not drooling, YOU’RE drooling! I think I need to make these using my Cornbread Cookie Recipe!
