Can you believe it? The 2017 CookieCon countdown has begun! The tickets went on sale yesterday (October 26th) and I love seeing all the excited #cookiecon2017 posts! You don't want to miss this international cookie extravaganza! (March 9 - 11th)
If you like to:

- want to meet people who are as crazy as you...
you belong here! Cookie Con is held in beautiful downtown Salt Lake City among the majestic snow covered mountains of Utah. People come from all over the U.S. and last year 16 countries were represented all in the name of COOKIES... and in case you were wondering: Cookiers are the sweetest and most friendly people and they don't bite... hard.
Mike and Karen Summers (the crazy awesome couple behind karenscookies.net and Cookie Con!) have a lot of fun things up their sleeves for this upcoming conference. This will be the second year that they are starting the party a little early with an amazing variety of hands on PRE-CookieCon classes. This is a great opportunity to learn specific techniques and skills from some incredible teachers. Check out all the teachers and details here under "Pre Event Classes".
I am so excited to teach my Pre-Cookie Con classes because it is like a party before the party! How cool is that?! All supplies for the class will be provided and all you have to bring is your awesome self. If you have a favorite paintbrush or apron, feel free to bring it along. I like to cover a lot of techniques in my classes, so be prepared to paint, pipe, dimensional flood, do a little airbrushing, learn some sneaky tricks I use, make royal icing transfers, did I mention paint?
I will be hosting 3 events:
Wednesday, March 8th 8:00 - 12:00: Steampunk $150.00 (open to all)
Wednesday, March 8th 2:00 - 6:00 : Fabulous 50's $150.00 (open to all)
Thursday, March 9th 8:00 - 12:00: *Sock Hop $free (open to McGoo U subscribers)
*The Sock Hop is a social, not a class. This will be a super fun and casual party where you can get to know other cookiers before the conference starts. There will be refreshments and prizes. Retro/50's attire is encouraged, but not required.
So, how do I get a seat in class?
The classes will be available for purchase tomorrow, October 28th at 10:00 am (PST) in the shop. There are 15 available spots in each class. Classes can be found here: http://www.artymcgoo.com/live-workshops/. If by chance the tickets are sold out, you can email Mr. John at firstname.lastname@example.org to get on a waiting list in case a seat opens up. Fees for classes do not include a ticket to CookieCon. Tickets for CookieCon can be purchased here.
Cancellations: Any student cancellation before January 1st, 2017 will be given a full refund minus $15. No refunds will be given after January 1st, 2017.
In the unlikely event that I have to cancel a class, a full refund will be given.
So, how do I get into the party?
The Sock Hop is a social open to all current monthly and annual McGoo U subscribers. This is a fun and free event to thank my awesome supporters and a great opportunity to meet other cookiers before the big events starts. Refreshments, prizes, and a swell time can be expected. I can't wait to meet everybody! Retro/50's attire is encouraged but not required.
RSVP with the email heading "Sock Hop" to email@example.com and get your name on the attendee list.
